Carol Eichner grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, riding, showing, and dreaming of owning her own horse some day. She returned to horses in her twenties. While working as an advertising copywriter in a small ad agency in McLean, Virginia, she answered an ad for a small adult to train ponies. That ad from Longacre Farm changed her career path. Carol trained many, many of Longacre's lovely Welsh and Welsh cross-bred ponies and sent them off to sucessful careers on the A Circuit including Longacre Wildcard, Longacer Hats Off and Jack Be Nimble
After having her daughter, Caitlin, horses provided the flexibility to be both a full-time mom and a working mom. EverReady Farm took shape as Caitlin learned to ride and love horses, as well. EverReady was a three-year-old Connemara-Welsh pony whom Carol broke in exchange for leasing Ready's brother, Boomerang, for Caitlin to ride. Caitlin and EverReady became a team when she was 12 and he was four. "Ready" started teaching lessons to a five-year-old when he was five. And he has gone on to teach so many more ... for the last 12 years, Ready has been the perfect confidence builder, perfect teacher, perfect show pony. He is our team's mascot and is loved by all. Carol finally got her own horse when she turned 50. And now she dreams for her kids.
